Have questions about the Canon hiring process?

As a prospective employee, you may have questions about the application process. To help you learn more about our hiring process, we’ve answered some of the most commonly asked questions.

Talent Network

You have two options:

  1. Create a job alert while on a job listing page.
  2. Join our Talent Network. You’ll not only be kept in the loop about our career opportunities but also receive news about Canon Canada. Complete your profile telling us about your areas of interest, and we’ll email you alerts when positions you may be interested in become available.
A Talent Network is an informal opt-in between you, the candidate, and a company you’re interested in joining. You create a profile on our site, indicating your areas of career interest and, if you choose, sharing your work history with us. In return, we send you-as a valued member of our talent community-news about Canon Canada and alerts about the career opportunities in our 13 offices across the country.
You’ll be emailed customized job alerts based on your set preferences and interests, making you among the first to know about new openings. You’ll spend less time on job searches, having already told us what you’re looking to do. You’re letting us know upfront that you want to work for us, so right away we know you’re engaged with what we do-and you want to be a part of it!
Simply click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of one of the Talent Network emails you received from us.
Your Content Goes HereNo-if you’re already a member of our Talent Network, it’s not necessary to sign up every time you apply for a job. Doing so may, in fact, cause confusion and reduce the chances that your application gets screened through.
Yes. When you join the Talent Network, you provide us with information about your areas of interest so we can share news and alerts relevant to you. Your application profile supplements your job application but doesn’t sign you up for our Talent Network. You need to fill in the application profile for your job application to be considered complete.
Click “Join Our Talent Network” on any page and submit an updated profile to adjust your preferences. You will have to resubmit your information from when you first joined, but the form is short.

Application Process

You will need to create an online profile. On the position’s job summary page, click “Apply for This Job Online.” From there, you’ll be asked to provide your contact information, fill out your candidate profile, upload your résumé and answer some job-specific questions. You can also apply for a position through our LinkedIn page. After clicking “Apply,” you will be redirected to the position’s job summary page on our site and asked to create an online profile.
While you can upload more than one résumé, we recommend you submit only one and update it as needed. This reduces the risk of confusion and increases your résumé’s chances of being successfully screened through.

Yes, you can modify your profile and job application information whenever you like. Here’s how:

  • Log in to your profile and click “Update Your Profile.”
  • Edit your personal information or upload an updated résumé.
  • Click “Update Profile” to save your changes.
Visit our Job Listings page by clicking either “Explore Careers” or “Apply Today” on the Canon.ca Careers home page, then choosing “Search Opportunities.” You can search all available job openings, or you can filter by keyword, area of interest, position type and location.
You’ll receive a confirmation email immediately after opting in. We suggest saving this email as it contains information on how to update your preferences and location if you need to. You’ll then receive messages anytime a job that aligns with your profile and interests gets posted. You can opt out of these alerts at any time.

Note: Sharing your job preferences and interests with us to receive these alerts does not automatically move you into consideration for an open position. You need to apply for a specific job opening to be considered for that position within Canon Canada.

Absolutely! We keep all résumés we receive in our database and continually review candidate profiles against new job openings. You can also join our Talent Network to ensure you know about any new career opportunities with Canon Canada.
You will be emailed confirmation that your application has been received. If you are selected to move forward in the recruiting process, you will be contacted by a member of our Talent Acquisition team for an interview. If you are not selected, you will be notified by email, phone and/or mail. We may reach out to you about other opportunities that match your interests and experience. You can update your online profile at any time.

Note: Our recruiters do their best to carefully review the candidate pool for every job opening. For positions with a high candidate turnout, it may take a few weeks for the recruiter and/or hiring manger to review every application. We appreciate your patience during this review process.

You can find the status of your application on your online profile dashboard. You can also check the general status of a job posting to see if it’s still open.
Simply click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of one of the Talent Network emails you received from us.
You’ll meet with the hiring manager and a member of our Talent Acquisition team, who will tell you more about the position, our company and our people. This is also your chance to tell us more about your academic and work experiences and what makes you the best candidate for the job, and to ask any questions you may have about the position and the company.

Simply follow these steps:

  • Click the “Log Back In” link, located in the top-right corner of every portal page.
  • Click “Forgot Your Password?”
  • On the Password Reset page, enter the email address you used to create the account.
  • Click on the link emailed to this address and follow the steps for resetting your password.
